How To Wear Pants… Casually

Standard

I think pants are incredibly sexy on women. I’ve thought so since the first time I laid eyes on Catherine Deneuve. Pants are a staple for so many women when putting together something for the office. A sleek pair of pants doesn’t have to be reserved for a cubicle, though. Let’s veer from “business as usual”.

Boy Shaped Ladies, you’ll look striking in these high waist trousers(especially if you have a long torso). It will break up your torso and add length to your legs. And who doesn’t want longer legs?

Now, it really depends on your personal style, but I love this t-shirt from karmaloop (or any tee that can be tucked and will add some oomph to your upper half) with these pants. It looks really comfortable, too. The key is to create shape.

Add a pair of red Tom’s Shoes for a pop of color.

Fellow pears, let out a big “hello, sailor” to these red pants, because I’m going to pair them with some seafaring stripes.

The straight leg on these pants will cover any extra bulk and the bold stripes in this tank bring all the attention up top.

Shoes are optional.

Apple ladies, I found these perfect pants for you! These extra wide leg trousers do great when you want something to balance the focus.

I would love to see these pants with a very structured gray leather jacket and some deep brown leather boots. (Or faux leather like the jacket shown here. I’m a friend to the animals.)

Column gals, all you need is this! …Or something pretty similar to tie around the widest part of your hips.

It’s an extra long tie from Vineyard Vines. Tuck a light blue polo shirt into black, straight or wide leg trousers that are low to medium rise. Wrap around this adorable belt and you’re good to go.

You can safety-pin it crossed over itself if you don’t want a knot. (It’s up to you whether or not you want to hide the safety-pin)

Don’t worry, I can’t forget my hourglass femme fatales.

Normally, I don’t like baggy anything. But, for your shape these pants will pull in the curves. There is a definite difference between baggy and ill-fitted. Keep that in mind.

I like this shirt for these pants. Tuck it in, or leave it out. It’s fun both ways. If you want a slouchy look add a hobo bag and some extra-large sunglasses.

All of these looks really have me looking towards the weekend Don’t they all sort of say “weekend at the beach” to you?
